Well, it has started and it’s been almost two weeks since the beginning of Anngri‘s Animation Mentor class.
As I was anticipating it started a little slow. First week was about introduction to the school and meeting classmates and mentor. By the way, this class mentor is Jay Davis, who worked on such titles as Hellboy 2, Meet the Robinsons and others.
A big surprise was a setup of the Q&A sessions – which turned out to be an online video conference, where everyone can see everyone else on the full screen, when that person is talking. So, even being an online school, animation mentor provides some face-to-face interaction.
Back to the drawing board.
As you would expect, every animation story including the story about animation school, begins with a pen and paper. The second week is about poses. Students are asked to draw sketches from live models, choose one pose and using awesome Stu-rig reproduce the pose in Maya.
